James’ Fruit and Vegetables Ltd started trading in 1968 as Cath & Roland James, where we sold lettuces and tomatoes at Carlisle outdoor market before moving to Penrith indoor market, now Devonshire Arcade in around 1970. From the Arcade we moved to a shop in Burrowgate, Penrith where we traded from for nearly 30 years.

 

In the new millenium, with a new retail outlet at Cranston’s Cumbrian Food Hall in Penrith, we closed our shop to concentrate on the expanding market of wholesale around Cumbria.

 

Today we are Cumbria’s leading fresh produce specialist with over 250 regular customers all across the county, from Brampton to Workington and Longtown to Tebay.
